OK - This Is How You Can Walk On Ice

When walking outdoors in the winter, no matter how well snow and ice is removed from sidewalks, pedestrians will still encounter some slippery surfaces. Icy conditions are no fun, especially if you have poor balance.

Penguins, as well as people who live in areas covered by ice for weeks each year, have figured out a way to walk on ice without getting injured. The image below, created by Tablet Infographics, shows instructions on how to walk on ice using this method.

Instead of splitting your center-of-gravity evenly between your feet, shift it over your front facing foot. This will help you walk more easily across icy surfaces without falling quite so much. Always remember take short steps or shuffle for stability; it also helps to stop occasionally to break momentum.
